What is Masterful Interviewing and Onboarding?
One of the best strategies for retaining quality talent in today’s market is the effectiveness of your interviewing process. In this training, participants will learn how to ask behavioral and situational-based interview questions to uncover the key attributes needed for the position you are hiring for. Discussion around “hard” and “soft” skills, as well as, organizational values will be a strong theme in this training. Additionally, participants will learn tips for phone and virtual interviewing and have the opportunity to practice interviewing using the skills learned in this training.
In addition to the interview process, onboarding employees well has never been more important than it is right now. We are facing new growth, new ways of conducting business, and the need for high retention. The foundation for success lies in a great onboarding plan that goes well beyond an employee’s first day.
Masterful Interviewing and Onboarding is available in person at our training facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in a virtual training format, or onsite at your company anywhere in the country.

This training course takes place over one 6-hour session in person or two 3-hour sessions virtually. In these sessions you will cover:
- Interviewing With Excellence: Participants will learn how to avoid cliche interview questions, how to tailor interview questions for positions and culture, how to interview for hard and soft skills, and the importance of behavioral and situational based questions.
- Excellent Onboarding Impact: Participants will understand the reasons for doing onboarding well and what the impact of excellent onboarding has on retention. They will learn the 6 key steps to onboarding well to increase retention and decrease turnover.
- Leave with Tools and Resources: Participants will leave with templates and instructions for creating an successful onboarding plan from day one to the first year.
